This holiday season, there’s truly no place like Hancock, New York — recently named Time Out New York’s #1 Best Small Town in the U.S. The community once again transforms into a winter wonderland for the 17th Annual Christmas on the Square – “Frozen in Time” celebration and the Sandra Karcher Memorial Parade of Lights.
Step back into a nostalgic holiday dreamscape where sparkling lights, cheerful music, and the warmth of neighbors make the season unforgettable.
🎄 Christmas on the Square – “Frozen in Time” (2PM–8PM)
Join the fun in the heart of Hancock’s historic village at 20 East Main Street from 2PM to 8PM. This year’s theme, Frozen in Time, invites families to relive the timeless magic of small-town holidays — where the cocoa is hot, the laughter is loud, and the lights shine brighter than ever.
🛍️ From 2PM–6PM, shop local vendors, enjoy a Children's Petting Zoo from Klondike Farms (Siegler Family) and shop the vendors and downtown stores for handcrafted gifts, sweet treats, and festive décor.
🎄 Enjoy the Live Nativity by the Hazen Family from 2-4PM. Toast marshmallows over glowing fire-pits as the evening takes hold, and take in the sight of our beautifully lighted 30-foot Christmas tree donated by the Leet Family — sourced and installed by Andrew Gross and Gateway Lawn Service & Family. Lights installed and provided by the Hancock Fire Department.
🎅 Photos with Santa (4PM–7:30PM)
Meet Santa Claus himself for free family photos under the lights! Santa will be available 4–5:15PM and again 6:45–7:30PM after the Parade of Lights.
🎁 Rudolph’s Reindeer Run Scavenger Hunt (2PM–6PM)
Kids can explore Hancock’s charming downtown and waterfront for clues, candy, and prizes in this interactive adventure that captures the joy of discovery.
✨ Magical Lights & Warm Hearts
The entire Town Square will be transformed into a “Frozen in Time” wonderland — a twinkling light show synchronized to holiday music, with outdoor heaters to keep spirits warm while the night sparkles around you.
🚒 17th Annual Sandra Karcher Memorial Parade of Lights – “Frozen in Time” (6PM–6:45PM)
At 6PM sharp, the streets of Hancock burst to life with glowing floats, firetrucks, and marching groups in this breathtaking procession of light and community pride. Organized by the Village of Hancock Fire Department in partnership with Hancock Area Chamber of Commerce & Hancock Partners the parade celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and holiday joy — all in honor of Sandra Karcher’s enduring legacy.
🏆 Dozens of entries will compete for Best in Show — judged on lights, theme interpretation, and community spirit. Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, this year’s “Frozen in Time” parade promises a dazzling journey through the heart of the season.
