There will be a Special Board meeting Today Tuesday, October 27th, 6:00 at the Town Hall.
The purpose of the meeting is to get public input on what the Town of Hancock should do with the $280,000 they received from the golf course sale.
By NY State law it has to go into Parks and Recreation. This is your community's money, help them find a way to make improvements in our Township.
Corrine Tompkins from Cornell Cooperative Extension will be attending to give a presentation on
4-H.

According to weather information provided to Hancock Area Chamber of Commerce from the National Weather Service, showers are expected to move into the region Thursday night and continue into Friday morning, with periods of heavier rainfall possible.
A break in the rain late Friday morning or early afternoon could allow temperatures to rise and increase atmospheric instability ahead of an approaching cold front.
The primary concern is damaging wind gusts, particularly if a line of strong thunderstorms develops and moves west to east across the Southern Tier and northeastern Pennsylvania.
An isolated, brief tornado cannot be completely ruled out, although the tornado threat for the Southern Tier is currently considered low. The greater concern remains farther south in northeastern Pennsylvania.
What Residents Should Know:
- Thursday night into Friday morning: Periods of rain, with locally heavy downpours possible.

Community members are invited to donate new school supplies to help local students start the upcoming school year with the tools they need to succeed.

• Highlighters

Farmers Market Update & Welcome Quarry Run Riders! 🏍️
Good morning and Happy Saturday to Hancock NY! Due to the significant rainfall and weather conditions we've experienced over the past week, today's Greater Hancock Area Farmer's Market & Crafts Fair will look a little different than usual on this beautiful Summer Saturday!
Unfortunately, there will be no live music today, and we expect a smaller number of vendors this week as some of our farmers, artisans, and small businesses continue recovering from the recent weather impacts. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we need to give many of them impacted by recent tornadoes and flooding all our love and support as they get back on their feet this week! Please check on your local farms and neighbors and lend a hand to those in need and impacted. We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to come out and support the vendors who are able to attend. Every purchase makes a difference to our local farms, craftspeople, and small businesses.
At the same time, we're excited to welcome participants and visitors for the 27th Annual Quarry Run Dual Sport Event, hosted by the Hancock Fire Department and Bear Creek Sportsmen. This annual tradition brings riders from across the Northeast to experience the incredible scenery and hospitality of the Hancock area.

With hundreds of motorcycles traveling to and from Firemen's Field and along designated event routes, we ask everyone to:
🏍 Be alert for motorcycles entering and leaving roadways.
🚗 Slow down and use extra caution near intersections and event crossings.

🤝 Help us give our guests a warm welcome, while keeping everyone safe.

The annual parade steps off at 6:00 PM, featuring fire departments, emergency services, marching units, community organizations, antique apparatus, and more.

Participating units should line up beginning at 5:00 PM.
Supporting a Great Cause
All proceeds from the event benefit the Hancock Fire Department, Inc., helping support emergency services, training, equipment, and community safety programs throughout the Hancock area.

If weather impacts the fireworks display, the fireworks rain date will be Sunday, July 26, 2026.
