Bridges update 8/21
67-21 we are still working on the rail. The new 4 rail system takes time. Plus we are down a worker who just quit our guiderail crew.
163 Lordville continues to battle us the whole way. The concrete scheduled for today will not happen as Masters concrete plant in Starlight was struck by lightning and apparently did a lot of damage to the equipment there. They told us it will definitely not be supplying concrete this week with no promise as to when it might be up and running again. They will not bring us concrete from one of their other plants as they are too far away. Otsego Redi Mix is the only other concrete supplier that bids our work and they won’t deliver to Lordville as it is too far away. They couldn’t get us concrete until the end of next week anywhere anyway. Butts Concrete, Sullivan Structures and about anyone else we could find won’t deliver this far from their plant. Wayne County Ready Mix in Honesdale PA CAN get us concrete. They are scheduled for Monday with a (small) chance of being able to get us the 14 cubic yards we need this week. As soon as we can get it we will pour. On the bright side, the portion of the deck we can install is complete. We will backfill the north side of the bridge, and clean up the site while we wait for concrete. Down to just one crew there until we can pour concrete and finish that side of the bridge. The picture is from midday Monday.
Probably no update Thursday night/Friday morning unless we can get concrete. It’ll be quiet until then, but we’re doing everything we can. Need concrete to move ahead.

Bridges update 8/19
67-21 rail is going on. Should be done this week.
163 Lordville. Decking will start today. Can only do about ½ the bridge until the other backwall is poured and cured. We will be ready for concrete on Wednesday 8/21 but Masters concrete plant in Starlight got struck by lightning on Friday and they had electrical problem because of that. As long as they got that fixed we’ll have all the concrete poured on Wednesday. Once all the decking is on we have a lot of paving and rail work to do to finish up.

SUMMER SATURDAYS ARE BACK! Bridges update 8/15
67-21 we are working on the rail. Everything else is done.
163 Lordville we are working on the second (last) backwall. We have concrete scheduled for Wednesday 8/21 to pour that. We should start the deck either tomorrow or Monday.
The end is near, but this bridge has not been an easy one.

67-21 bridge rail is being installed. Rain last week slowed us down but going good this week so far.
163 Lordville first backwall was finally poured. Not without issues as the first concrete truck showed up on the wrong side of the bridge and couldn’t make it to the correct side in time. Then the third truck broke down on the way to the job. We got him fixed enough to pour so all’s well that ends well. Both bridge crews are working on this now, hoping it goes smoother than the rest of the job. As nice as 67-21 went, this one is the opposite.
Picture of 163 (Lordville) attached.

Bridges update 8/12
67-21 still just waiting on rail. Flooding (nothing major but lots of locations) in other parts of the County has kept our crew away.
163 Lordville is still scheduled for the first backwall concrete pour this afternoon.

Due to extreme weather advisories, local flooding today and impacted river communities, we are canceling the Hancock Farmers Market tomorrow Saturday August 10th and indeed all events in the Town Square to focus resources on public safety.
We look forward to seeing you all next Saturday August 17th at 10AM! Please stay home and safe, and avoid travel on all impacted roads and waterways! Due to recent flooding, water levels are expected to climb three feet on portions of the East Branch River, and West Branch upwards of 2 feet, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service. So please stay off the river when possible, and advise any neighbors and friends of the danger along the river, and roadways!

Delaware County has issued a State of Emergency as the heavy rains and wind from the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby swept the area.
Delaware County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Tina Mole said the State of Emergency was issued in the interest of public safety.
The county said flooding and winds have caused damage to its infrastructure and multiple roads have been deemed impassable. Therefore, the county issued a no-unnecessary travel order.
The order will be lifted at 8 a.m. on Aug. 10.

Bridges update 8/9
67-21 and 139 were paved on Wednesday. Did shoulder backup yesterday before the rain got too bad. Just need to finish the rail now and we'll be done there!
163 Lordville the concrete pour scheduled for yesterday afternoon got rained out. We can't get concrete until Monday afternoon now.

Bridges update 8/7
Br 67-21 was milled yesterday. Paver and blacktop are on site right now, just waiting for the road to dry before they start paving.
Br 139 at the end of Sands Creek was also milled yesterday and should be paved today as well.
Br 163 Lordville we can’t get concrete until tomorrow. So the first backwall will be poured tomorrow afternoon. We have been working on the other backwall and hope to pour that early next week. As soon as that concrete has cured a bit we will start putting the deck on.

Bridge update 8/5
67-21. Milling was pushed off until tomorrow 8/6 due to Cobleskill Stone Product’s schedule. Paving scheduled for 8/7 now.
163 Lordville. Concrete backwall pour is ready, just waiting on concrete availability from Masters Concrete. Hope to be able to get it tomorrow or Wednesday. We will be working on getting the other backwall ready so a delay in concrete availability won’t impact the overall schedule yet.

Bridges update 8/1
67-21 no real changes. Milling/paving still scheduled for 8/6 and 8/6 per CSP’s schedule.
Lordville’s backwalls will not be poured until Monday or Tuesday. Ran into complications forming to the old concrete.

Bridges update,
67-21 is going to be quiet for the rest of this week. Just general cleanup, but it will not be closed to traffic at all anymore. It will remain under temporary red lights until we are complete. There may be temporary long delays (in addition to the red lights) as work is completed, but traffic will be able to get through. Milling is scheduled for Monday 8/5 with paving on 8/6. This is dependent on Cobleskill Stone Products schedule. Rain may delay the work. Once rail is up and the paving is complete we will be done and the road will go back to the regular 2 lane configuration. While CSP is in the area, we are going to mill and repave County Bridge 139, the bridge on West Main Street over Sands Creek, by the old Kaplan Motors.
Br 163, Lordville is progressing. We have been forming and tying rebar for the backwalls. The first backwall will be poured on Friday 8/2. Both bridge crews will be working here when there is no work going on at 67-21.
