Bridges update 8/12

Due to extreme weather advisories, local flooding today and impacted river communities, we are canceling the Hancock Farmers Market tomorrow Saturday August 10th and indeed all events in the Town Square to focus resources on public safety.
We look forward to seeing you all next Saturday August 17th at 10AM! Please stay home and safe, and avoid travel on all impacted roads and waterways! Due to recent flooding, water levels are expected to climb three feet on portions of the East Branch River, and West Branch upwards of 2 feet, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service. So please stay off the river when possible, and advise any neighbors and friends of the danger along the river, and roadways!

Delaware County has issued a State of Emergency as the heavy rains and wind from the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby swept the area.
Delaware County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Tina Mole said the State of Emergency was issued in the interest of public safety.
The county said flooding and winds have caused damage to its infrastructure and multiple roads have been deemed impassable. Therefore, the county issued a no-unnecessary travel order.
The order will be lifted at 8 a.m. on Aug. 10.

Bridges update 8/9
67-21 and 139 were paved on Wednesday. Did shoulder backup yesterday before the rain got too bad. Just need to finish the rail now and we'll be done there!
163 Lordville the concrete pour scheduled for yesterday afternoon got rained out. We can't get concrete until Monday afternoon now.

Bridges update 8/7
Br 67-21 was milled yesterday. Paver and blacktop are on site right now, just waiting for the road to dry before they start paving.
Br 139 at the end of Sands Creek was also milled yesterday and should be paved today as well.
Br 163 Lordville we can’t get concrete until tomorrow. So the first backwall will be poured tomorrow afternoon. We have been working on the other backwall and hope to pour that early next week. As soon as that concrete has cured a bit we will start putting the deck on.

Bridge update 8/5
67-21. Milling was pushed off until tomorrow 8/6 due to Cobleskill Stone Product’s schedule. Paving scheduled for 8/7 now.
163 Lordville. Concrete backwall pour is ready, just waiting on concrete availability from Masters Concrete. Hope to be able to get it tomorrow or Wednesday. We will be working on getting the other backwall ready so a delay in concrete availability won’t impact the overall schedule yet.

Bridges update 8/1
67-21 no real changes. Milling/paving still scheduled for 8/6 and 8/6 per CSP’s schedule.
Lordville’s backwalls will not be poured until Monday or Tuesday. Ran into complications forming to the old concrete.

Bridges update,
67-21 is going to be quiet for the rest of this week. Just general cleanup, but it will not be closed to traffic at all anymore. It will remain under temporary red lights until we are complete. There may be temporary long delays (in addition to the red lights) as work is completed, but traffic will be able to get through. Milling is scheduled for Monday 8/5 with paving on 8/6. This is dependent on Cobleskill Stone Products schedule. Rain may delay the work. Once rail is up and the paving is complete we will be done and the road will go back to the regular 2 lane configuration. While CSP is in the area, we are going to mill and repave County Bridge 139, the bridge on West Main Street over Sands Creek, by the old Kaplan Motors.
Br 163, Lordville is progressing. We have been forming and tying rebar for the backwalls. The first backwall will be poured on Friday 8/2. Both bridge crews will be working here when there is no work going on at 67-21.
