Solar Eclipse & Public Safety Announcement: The Hudson Valley & Western Catskills will be in the path of a partial or near total solar eclipse. We will see between 88 and 99 percent coverage depending on your location and view. The eclipse starts at 2:11 p.m. today April 8th. However, please be advised that staring at the sun for prolonged periods even with protective eyewear can cause damage to your eyes. Please use extreme caution and avoid direct solar exposure where possible. Especially ensure that all youth and children are safely avoiding direct exposure during this time. Please be advised that your phone camera and camera lenses may also be damaged if held up to direct exposure for extended periods.

Boil Water Advisory: The boil water advisory has been lifted for the Village of Hancock, NY!
Anyone in the Hancock-Deposit area without power, NYSEG says they will have it restored around 6:00 pm tonight.
Weather & Event Advisory: Due to heavy snowfall the school was closed early today and the Indoor Walking event at HCSD has been canceled this evening due to inclement weather. Local residents are advised to drive safely due to ice on roads, only be on the roads when necessary to allow for winter road maintenance and plowing.
The Village of Hancock NY is on a boil water advisory effective immediately, until further notice.

The family learning center is hosting another family movie night on December 29th, at 4 pm. They will be playing “Elf” and “The Polar Express”. All children are given free admission, as well as free drinks and popcorn! Reminder, there must be an adult with children or adolescents that are attending!
